MAFIA – Music and Film Independent Artist Award Ceremony
This production was preceded by a performance at Macquarie University. The university production convinced the MAFIA organisers that our performance should be a part of their entertainment for the awards ceremony.
The show revolved around a girl being manipulated by six hands that were scared away by a glowing floating head.
This was one of the first public performances for Shh. We were anxious about how people might respond. The Gaelic Club is a music venue with a bar. As soon as the hands came on, the usually talkative beer drinkers were mesmerised by the little hands that entered the stage.
This performance included for the first time a glowing head puppet. In this show it appeared alone and with a splendid tail that helped it swim through the dark space. The audience response was fantastic which resulted in the invitation to be part of Live Bait Festival.
